Education Construction Project Experience & Projects
SUMMIT has provided each of our available services to completion of numerous Educational facility assessments, expansions and new construction throughout our community. Our work has included Phase I/II environmental services, geotechnical engineering, Chapter 1 and Chapter 17 Special Inspections, Material Testing, Indoor Air Quality, Mold Assessment and Remediation, Land Surveying, UST disposal and asbestos/lead paint testing and abatement.
SUMMIT is approved by the State Engineer's List and Office of School Facilities for Chapter 1 and Chapter 17 Inspections in South Carolina.
Our clientele has included Fort Mill Schools, York County Schools, Rock Hill Schools, Horry County Schools and Richland County Schools among others.
Fort Mill School District No. 4

SUMMIT is qualified by the South Carolina State Engineers List and Office of School Facilities and has worked on numerous Fort Mill new school construction projects. These projects include Elementary School No. 6, Elementary School No. 7, Nations Ford High School Phase 2, Nations Ford High School Stadium, Nations Ford High School Gymnasium, Fort Mill High School Gymnasium, and Middle School No. 4. Our work with the Fort Mill school district has included a wide-range of services including Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, Chapter 17 Special Inspections and Land Surveying services.
CPCC Northeast Campus
Location: Charlotte. North Carolina
Scope: Construction Materials Testing and Chapter 17 Special Inspections
Client: United Consulting and CPCC
The CPCC Northeast Campus Expansion consisted of a new three-story 49,144 square feet building containing classrooms, offices, library, auditorium and service areas. SUMMIT performed Construction Materials Testing and Chapter 17 Special Inspections for the steel framed structure, reinforced concrete and structural masonry and Geotechnical Engineering during site development which called for the use of creative solutions for utilization of on-site rock in structural fill areas.
Winthrop University Thurmond Auditorium
Location: Rock Hill, South Carolina
Scope: Chapter 1 and 17 Special Inspection Services
Client: Winthrop University
The Winthrop University Thurmond Auditorium project consisted of the construction of an approximate 30,000 square feet structure supported on a system of shallow foundations and structural steel framing. SUMMIT's services included performing Construction Materials Testing, Chapter 1 and Chapter 17 Inspection Services during site development and building construction.
Richland County Schools
Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Scope: UST Removal, Indoor Air Quality Investigations, Hazardous Waste Removal and Chemical Clean-up and Removal
Client: Richland County School District I
SUMMIT was awarded the on-call contract to address the environmental, health and safety needs of the school district of which has included UST removals, Indoor Air Quality Investigations, Hazardous Waste Removals, a development of a district-wide Environmental Compliance Plan and Chemical Clean-Up and Removal of the chemistry labs at district schools.
