SUMMIT maintains of the area's largest dedicated Residential Departments serving multiple residential Land Developers as well as local, regional and national Homebuilders. Our relationships in the residential marketplace are a direct result of our practical and cost effective solutions and rapid response for short notice inspection requests. Additionally, many developers and builders enjoy the simplicity and time savings that are a result of our wide range turn-key services. Due Diligence, Acquisition, Planning, Value Engineering, Site Development and Building Construction – we can provide our services during each "phase" during the life of a typical residential project.
Additionally, our office maintains a dedicated Foundation Inspection Department – dedicated to assisting area home builders in determining their specific soil conditions, foundation options and completing necessary Code Enforcement inspections. This department pioneered the use of web and email based reporting and today maintains a complete online database solely for area builders to access time critical reports.

The Palisades
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Scope: Construction Materials Testing, Geotechnical Engineering and Water Quality Sampling
Client: Rhein Medall Communities
The Palisades is a 1,600-acre community located along the banks of Lake Wylie. SUMMIT began working with Rhein Medall Communities on the initial phases of this one of a kind community. SUMMIT continues to provide the Construction Materials Testing Services during site development at The Palisades. SUMMIT has conducted asphalt, soil and stone density testing, asphalt coring, Geotechnical Engineering, along with numerous Engineering Observations and Water Quality Sampling.
Whitewater
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Scope: Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing Services
Client: Crosland Land Development
This 778-acre sustainable master-planned community adjacent to the U.S. National Whitewater Center will incorporate up to 2,800 homes, townhomes and apartments with neighborhood retail, schools and office space. Our work for Crosland includes of Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing during site development and NCDOT Roadway and Asphalt Testing Services for creation of the Whitewater Exploration Parkway and Belmeade Road realignment.
The Vineyards on Lake Wylie
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Scope: Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, Retaining Wall Testing and Water Quality Testing
Client: DR Horton with Provident Development
SUMMIT was given the opportunity to work with DR Horton and Provident Development on the 600-acre luxury community, The Vineyards on Lake Wylie. SUMMIT provided Engineering and Construction Material Testing Services during mass grading and site construction including asphalt, soil and stone density testing, Chapter 17 Special Inspections and Certifications of Retaining Walls, comprehensive strength testing of cement treated aggregate base along with foundation subgrade verifications for DR Horton's production team. SUMMIT is also providing Sediment and Water Quality Monitoring of the Paw Creek cove along the shoreline of Lake Wylie for compliance with local and state water quality standards.
Sun City at Carolina Lakes
Location: Lancaster, South Carolina
Scope: Retaining Wall Testing and Certification Services
Client: New Dimensions Outdoor Services, Inc.
The Sun City Carolina Lakes Development by Del Webb and Pulte Homes comprises a 1,200 acre active adult community located in Lancaster, South Carolina. SUMMIT has worked with New Dimensions during construction of over 300,000 square feet of segmental block retaining walls on the project. Our services consist of advanced Laboratory Testing, Wall Foundation Inspections, Compaction Testing and Wall Certification for the segmental block retaining walls within 17 phases of this community.
